Welcome to the second volume in my “Read Along” series and as I obsess over “Fargo” more than a gentleman of my age should and considering my unabashed love for all things Coen Brothers, this was an easy addition to a series I hope will run and run.
The premise is as simple as a Coen Brothers plan going horribly awry:
I’m picking my favourite films, the spoiler free articles I’ve penned in appreciation of them and adding my Youtube/Rumble Channel readings of them. So, should you wish to do so, you can “read along” with my article as I read it via my videos. Below you will find both my original spoiler free review of Fargo, my opus love-in appreciation of the Coen Brothers first 17 films and both a Youtube and Rumble version of my reading of Fargo.
I could tell you that I see myself in far too many characters in a Coen Brothers film and Jerry Lundegaard in particular here. I could also wax lyrical as to how this film has been a constant companion now for well over two decades and whenever I need a “pick me up” or an awkward laugh I reach for the DVD. I could even describe how I see the Coen Brothers even eclipsing Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan as my favourite purveyors of cinematic perfection.
But all of this and more is covered in the lengthy articles below and my videos too.
So here I am, reading my own spoiler free review of an incredible film I couldn’t possibly highly recommend enough all whilst surrounded by a fraction of my book collection and enveloped in the spirit of Salvador Dali.
Not entirely sure it works but it works for me!
I hope you enjoy.
