31st May 2023.
The plan today was to hop across the border into Wales and visit Chirk Castle and its magnificent gardens. However, the sun clearly didn’t want to put his hat on again and rather than the end of May, today looked and felt like a cold mid April, so with the promise of a box of fish and chips (always seems silly saying box rather than bag, but a box it now is), I bribed my son to come along for the evening ride.
Regular readers of my travel articles (thank you one and all) will attest that I return to Ironbridge a lot but here’s the rub dear reader, old or indeed new, I’m only ever going to visit Ironbridge today, this day, 31st May 2023, and these will be the only images you see from me, from today in Ironbridge and yes, the fish and chips were delicious!
So here’s the “Grand Old Lady” of Ironbridge today, 31st May 2023, and I hope you enjoy this brief pictorial stroll:

Thanks for reading. There are now over 100 separate articles contained within my “UK Travel” library for you to enjoy from the canals of England and Wales through to castles, cathedrals and centuries old ruins that dot the border between these two countries.
