I just miss hearing your voice and your acerbic answers to my questions!

I miss hearing you start a conversation with “Well I left you a message and a lady said she’d deliver it to you” and why you called immediately again to just “find out how you are”.

I miss your innocence tickling me and forever making me smile.

I miss the family round up and the “buggers” who hadn’t called you!

But you always called me Mum, and I just miss hearing your voice.

So I wanted you to know I hugged your sister and boy does she miss you.

You were the topic of conversation and the bringer of smiles on a day of tears.

Your memory burns as bright as the lovable misanthrope legend we’ve created!

Your football team remains in a dreadful state and I miss hearing your seething and scathing comments!

I miss you calling when my team win a trophy, and how you simply had to celebrate with me.

I miss you reminiscing about Dad and wished I could take away the pain.

I miss your twisted view, no-nonsense attitude and being quietly misunderstood.

I miss you always being there, always, even if you didn’t understand me.

I miss you calling “just for a chat with my son”.

I just miss hearing your voice
