Hot off the press! My 4th self published book.

Arriving two days earlier than scheduled from the Good Ole’ US of A, I am incredibly pleased and proud to brag about shamelessly and present to you, my dearest of readers, my fourth self-published book to date, and a book about cricket that isn’t about cricket.

Not really.

Cricket does tend to take centre-stage occasionally, but as the cover of the book hopefully conveys, this is far more than 41 daily sideways glances at a cricket Ashes Summer of 2023. Instead, tall tales are told and relayed from cricket commentary boxes or a heron will be taking flight on a canal or I’ll be shaking hands with a lion on a bridge after watching a game of baseball beside the River Severn. There are also tales told of losing to my son at cards (see cover picture), saving the world at the cinema with Ethan Hunt and Indiana Jones or watching local club cricket as rain stopped both play and England firmly in their tracks as they tried in vain for a comeback win for the ages. There’s a Black Mirror and a little social commentary, film reviews, canal strolls, fish and chips whilst talking to a “Grand Old Lady” and 41 days and nights of writing a daily journal watching an Ashes Summer that will never be forgotten.

There’s some cricket in the book too occasionally!
