My third and latest book on the grandest game of them all arrived this morning from the Good Ole US of A and she looks a pip and a dandy and as a favourite Radiohead song doth declare “Everything is in its right place”.
Here’s the blurb from the back cover which, if you’re a cricket or sports fan, will hopefully pique your interest:
“50 something unabashed fan of the majesty of Test Match cricket and when not watching the grand old game through the night with a fresh cup of tea and a packet of chocolate biscuits, I can be found in the company of the “Grand Old Lady” of Ironbridge, my beautiful son or when I’m feeling particularly lucky, both”.
“Today saw the glorious spectacle of not one, not even two but three matches of the grand old game spanning the end of one cold and dark night here in England before finally ending way past the crack of dawn, the consumption of bacon and egg sandwiches and the clock ticking towards noon of another day that will end or indeed begin if you prefer, with this joyous sporting rigmarole commencing in earnest all over again.
Oh the joys of Test Match cricket”.
“Welcome to watching England “through the night” and their ignominious defence of the 2023 World Cup and the toughest assignment in world cricket, a 5 Test Match tour of India”.
I’ll add nothing further but a link to the book, a couple of promotional images and I hope this pique’s your interest to treat yourself to a deep dive into the grandest of all games.
