It's not unusual for this to happen in other sports. The harshest penalty is that the coach gets suspended for a period of time by the sanctioning body and/or fired by the management.
Indeed David, I've seen many "bench clearances" in baseball in my time and whilst I no longer watch ice hockey I remember one or two fisticuffs over the years!!! Last night was a little different (as I hope I captured in my report) as it was the last ever "Derby" at Everton's storied home before they move to a purpose built new stadium, they equalised way past injury time, pitch invasion, fisticuffs between the players and the Reds normally laid back and placid boss Arne Slot red carded for a few words with the referee. A real throwback to "Derbies" of the 1980's "blood and thunder" and all that. Reds still top and sitting pretty but.......that equaliser was a sickening! Oh well, just a game of football.

So many involved with these sports constantly forget that they are indeed just "games".
Especially so on “Derby Day” when the city/families are split down the middle, but still a game.
