I've been a fan of Martin Landau since Space 1999. He was simply amazing in Ed Wood. You can tell it was a true labour of love, and not just from him, but from a whole bunch of the cast and crew. What Burton gets right in this one is that a movie with no budget, minimal talent, and a real vision, is always superior to a film with a budget, big talent, and no vision.

Couldn't agree more. And Space 1999? Ah what memories they are! The memory these days is a little foggy, but here in the UK Space 1999 was huge for a while, always on re-runs, and I quote it whenever I pen any reviews on space films. I even had that odd shaped spaceship as a toy when I was a kid. What a pride and a joy that was!

The Eagle. Absolute classic. S1999 was prime time stuff on CBC, and it featured very well known (here) British-born Canadian actor Barry Morse, which made it even more popular.

Love it. My second favourite Tim Burton film as it's so utterly bonkers! Thanks for reading, much appreciated.
